Theme: Survey on folic acid intake and the role of drugstores

Folic acid is an important vitamin that is essential for women who wish to become pregnant to promote healthy fetal development. However, it is difficult to obtain the necessary amount through diet alone, so the use of supplements is recommended.

This initiative considered conducting a survey of the actual situation of "preconception care ^*," including folic acid intake, at drug stores and conducting awareness-raising activities. It is hoped that in the future, drug stores will function as hubs for promoting preconception care.

^* Preconception care is when women and couples consider their lives and health while thinking about future pregnancies.

Theme: Good self-medication during the coronavirus pandemic

Although society is changing to co-exist with the new coronavirus infection, there are still a certain number of people who are refraining from seeing a doctor, and pharmacies are required to encourage them to see a doctor and help with self-medication. Therefore, we have created a new flowchart for over-the-counter drugs that can be used at pharmacies, and are reporting on the results of using them.
The content of the presentation conveyed two aspects: the numerical basis of clinical research and the passionate feelings about the role of pharmacies.

Tsuruha Group's pharmacists will continue to utilize their specialized knowledge and work toward becoming a drugstore that contributes to the local community.

With the theme of "Nichizai Pharmaceutical Summer Festival '23," we will focus on issues that pharmacists and pharmacy workers should face, such as improving interpersonal work, improving the efficiency of physical work, and utilizing ICT by adapting digital transformation (DX).
