The Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Conference, which began in 2009, will reach its 15th milestone in 2023. Previously, the 13th and 14th events were held online, but this time it was held at Asti 45 (Sapporo, Hokkaido) in a hybrid format that combined on-site and online events. On the day of the event, there were approximately 70 local participants, and online viewing was conducted by in-house pharmacists at approximately 240 locations nationwide.

At this competition, 17 presentations were made, mainly those selected from a total of 45 presentations from the research seminar, which was the preliminary round. The presentation will discuss pharmaceutical care for specific diseases, collaboration with hospitals through documentation and monitoring of side effects, and women's health consultation to examine the need for pharmacist intervention in women's health issues. A wide range of research results were reported, including examples of attempts to establish counters.

Furthermore, at this conference, a report was presented on the ``Survey on awareness of universal design *1 in insurance pharmacies and the current state of implementation.'' It was shown that in the future, it is necessary to consider not only measures aimed at those with less awareness, but also the creation of stores that take universal design into account and the establishment of an information dissemination system.

*1 Universal design (UD) is a design that aims to be usable by as many people as possible from the beginning, regardless of age, disability, physique, gender, nationality, etc. Specifically, this includes a color scheme that takes into consideration visibility and the effect on the user's emotions, and a combination of visual and intuitive information transmission using pictograms and information transmission using voice, sound, and tactile sensations. .

After all presentations had been submitted, awards were given after a strict examination by eight external judges. In addition, taking advantage of the hybrid format, we have selected the ``New Pharmacist Audience Award'', which is chosen by voting by new Tsuruha Group pharmacists who participate online. Furthermore, based on Tsuruha Holdings' management philosophy of ``providing affluence and comfort in the lives of our customers,'' we awarded the presentation that most closely aligned with the philosophy with the ``Tsuruha HD President's Special Award.''

``There were a wide variety of themes, but each one had a way of reaching patients, whether indirectly or directly.
``There have been many presentations that will lead to expanding the professional capabilities of pharmacists, and I hope that these presentations will continue and reach a higher level.'' ”
We received comments such as:

After taking into account the questions and opinions received from the judges, we will first make a presentation at an external academic conference.

At the last conference, we were able to take on the challenge of holding the conference online, which was a new format, and it was a great success that we were able to provide an opportunity for in-house pharmacists, who would normally have difficulty coming to Sapporo, to participate. After careful consideration from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection, we decided to hold the 14th event online. On the day of the event, it was streamed in real time on YouTube, and was viewed by in-house pharmacists at over 150 venues nationwide.

At the conference, 17 presentations were made, including presentations selected from 51 presentations at the research seminar held as a preliminary round and presentations recommended by the Group Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Affairs Department. Presenters were also selected from Drug Eleven Co., Ltd., with which we formed a capital alliance in May 2020, making it a memorable event as all eight operating companies gathered together for the first time.

This conference will include presentations in the field of chemical pharmaceutical sciences that examine changes in composition during pulverization, as well as presentations on trending tracing reports and RMP *1, and presentations for patients with specific diseases such as cancer and diabetes. A wide variety of presentations were made, including efforts to improve the health of patients. One of the presentations was ``The usage status of cedar pollen fever desensitization therapy drug (Cedacure®) *2 and how pharmacists should be involved.'' There was an announcement.

*1 RMP (Risk Management Plan) is a set of initiatives to appropriately manage the risks of pharmaceuticals. Reference: Pharmaceutical Risk Management Plan (RMP)_Independent Administrative Agency Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency

*2 Desensitization therapy drugs are drugs that are administered in small doses to help the body get used to the allergen.

Desensitization therapy for cedar hay fever is a drug that improves the symptoms of cedar hay fever by administering a small amount of the drug containing an extract made from cedar pollen and gradually getting the body used to it. Due to its characteristics, it is necessary to continue taking the drug every day for a long period of time. This study revealed the period and number of years during which it is easy to stop taking the drug. This allows pharmacists to decide when to start and continue taking the drug. This suggests that it may be possible to take into account the number of years and place more emphasis on responding during periods when the dropout rate is high.

After all presentations have been completed, awards will be given through a strict examination by seven external judges, and, as in last year, the winners will be determined by votes from new Tsuruha Group pharmacists who are attending the lecture online, taking advantage of the online event. A "New Pharmacist Audience Award" was established, and one person was selected for the Audience Award. Additionally, as a new initiative, based on Tsuruha Holdings' management philosophy of ``providing affluence and comfort in the lives of our customers,'' we awarded the presentation that most closely matches the philosophy with the ``Tsuruha HD President's Special Award.''

October 24, 2021 The 13th Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Meeting

October 24, 2021 The 13th Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Meeting *Login authentication required*

Last year, we had no choice but to cancel due to the influence of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but this year we will hold the "13th Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Meeting" online on October 24, 2021. We were able to hold it on Sunday.
This was the first attempt since the first event was held in 2009, but even if it is held completely online, it is important to have a place to actively conduct research and present the results. It leads to improvement of motivation and level of ability.

The 13th Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Meeting The 13th Tsuruha Group Academic Presentation Meeting Greetings from President Jun Tsuruha

This year, 80 presentations in 2019 and 56 presentations in 2020 A total of 136 presentations 16 presentations selected by pre-screening were announced.
In the presentation, in addition to research on collaboration with hospitals using tracing reports and research on telephone follow-up, reflecting the change in the times of pharmacists from "things" to "people" Efforts in which pharmacists intervene in patient treatment have been reported a lot.
Presentation
Among the announcements “A study investigating the actual state of awareness regarding the proper use of antimicrobials” had.
Surprisingly, in this study, “Awareness of understanding of antibiotics” When "The number of correct answers to the question about understanding of antibacterial drugs and drug-resistant bacteria" was found to be unrelated. In 2019, we announced that face-to-face guidance by pharmacists led to changes in patients' awareness of the proper use of antimicrobials. According to the results of this survey on the actual state of recognition, The significance of intervention by pharmacists has increased, and the items that should be intervened have become clearer.

Also, what attracted the attention of many web audiences was "Research on commercial products that can be mixed together to make it easier to swallow powder medicines for children who cannot swallow them because they are bitter." was.
The Tsuruha Group also handles medication aid jelly for children, but there are combinations that make it bitter when mixed, and it is difficult to wrap it well with jelly, so We have yet to solve all children's dislike of medicine.
From a literature survey, we found several factors that reduce the bitterness, and had children and their guardians actually try the commercially available products that satisfy these factors, and confirmed the feeling of taking them. "I was able to take medicine that I could not normally take" Such cases have also been reported. It seems to be a new way to solve the drug dislike.

After all the presentations were finished, 6 external judges conducted a rigorous examination, and as a result, 1 best presentation award, 3 excellent presentation awards, and 1 special presentation award were awarded.
In addition, this year, taking advantage of the online event, an "Audience Award" was established, determined by votes from web audiences, and one audience award winner was also selected.

Award ceremony
From the university professors who participated as judges,
“I would like you to exchange information on what you have learned at academic conferences and research groups and make use of it in the field.
We see themes that focus not only on drugs but also on patients as consumers, which I think is a strength of the Group.
I received a comment.

At the Tsuruha Group, pharmacists work together to refine their expertise and further improve their qualifications, and we are committed to developing human resources who can contribute to regional medicine in the future.
